Countdown: 4 Days...
We just THOUGHT we were packed (see Monday's post). After another run to the store, loads of wash, things being fished for in the neatly packed luggage, etc... we aint anymore. That's ok, we needed SOMETHING to do to pass the time during these otherwise-uneventful countdown days. Not. We found out our hotels today, as well as the name of our in-country coordinator. You have to admit that it's kind of interesting to be making a trip of this magnitude and not have your flight until 10 days prior and your hotels 1 week prior...We tend to be folks who like things planned a bit further out. This continues to be a good learning experience in trust. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb. 11:1) I'll try to invite a guest (more interesting) writer for the next posting... (PR)

I think you guys pack like we do. If you take EVERYthing, then your less likely to forget something.
The difference is that you have to get it ALL into a only a couple of cases. Your thoughts about faith reminded me of a story similar to the suitcase situation. If you have to pack enough for all those days over there, how can there be enough? Reminds me about a little boy who said I've only got a few loaves and a couple of small fish....How can that be enough?...
Its all about the Master!
Just make sure you remember the essentials. If you should have to wear a shirt twice, is that really the important thing???
I often think about Mary and Joseph who were told to go to Egypt. They probably did not have time to even say good-bye and thanks to friends they had made. You are letting us share this with you.

What an exercise in walking by faith (airline tickets and hotels a week out) and not by sight.
Praying for all of you.........safe flight, calm spirits and just enjoyment of the adventure God is allowing you to have.

You are making history with one of God's special ones. The 17th will be here before we all know it and you can celebrate your 15th wedding annivesary as well as another addition to your family. While I am sure it seems slow at times we Christians advance on our knees. nl & kac
