Sunday in Guangzhou

We had a slow morning until leaving the hotel for a short walk to church. We attended a Chinese-English service at Christ Church right here on Shamian Island. It is an open (registered) church and very well attended--standing room only. The preaching was quite sound.
John-Nathan napped through the whole service--I'm sure that was a factor to his melt-down later in the afternoon at his usual nap time. See, we went to eat lunch after church, but when we came back to the room after lunch, he was not interested in continuing his unfinished nap. He definitely did not want the curtains closed. So, we're still learning about him (and he about us) and what makes him tick.

Afterward, we were even able to meet some of Robin's friends from when she attended here 1996-2000!
Sister sharing a snack with her little brother.
Playing drums on an empty snack canister.

The girls went to "spy out the land" a bit while John-Nathan napped. You have to visit a number of the shops to see where the best deals really are.
Tomorrow our coordinator will turn in our visa paperwork in the morning. We do not have to go to the Consulate, but we do need to be available back at the hotel in case there are any questions for us or irregularities. We plan to go out shopping in the afternoon.

Good seeing you all having fun in the bonding process. It is always interesting finding out what makes each one of us tick. Know that Monday will be a big day to get all of the Consulate work completed and getting ready to pack for THE TRIP. Have a great time in China and relax when possible. With a young one that seems to be enjoying freedom that may be a big task. Glad big sister is there to be such a help when Mom & Dad are exhausted. Luv ya

Today, I liked the movies of John-Nathan. My favorite was the one with Julanna and John-Nathan playing in the hotel. John-Nathan is cute!

Love to all,
Matthew

Everyone is looking good & hope all are feeling good. Enjoying the pics & video clips. Glad to hear there was a church available there you could attend. I had wondered about that. Ps 122:1 We will have to hear all about the adventures when you get home & have time to rest up. Love & prayers as you prepare for the return trip to the USA. We are looking forward to seeing you soon. Love Aunt Genie & Uncle Larry

It is amazing to see how natural John Nathan and Juliana play together. What a blessing. The Lord's name is being praised from the east to the west today! Glad you enjoyed some of the Believers there today. love, J&J

Deuteronomy 32:3-4, For I proclaim the name of the Lord: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

Well, the countdown is getting lower every day!!! We miss you all, and can hardly wait to see you again, and to meet John-Nathan! He seems like such a fun little guy! Your voices and smiles are such a joy to see and hear. We're praying for the last bit of time you have there, and the finishing touches on all the formalities!
In Him,
