Other than being out in crazy morning traffic, and having a hard time hailing a taxi for our return to the hotel, all transactions went smoothly. We put our red thumb prints next to our signatures on several documents. John-Nathan did his whole right hand! We got the official adoption certificate, as well as several receipts for fees paid for this and for that. The workers there said that Yang Guo Sheng was fortunate to be going to such a fun, loving, good-looking, and teacher family! (The "good-looking" made us chuckle!) The orphanage director had to say good-bye to him, but not us--we left with Yang Guo Sheng, not him.
Back in the room, we decompressed. John-Nathan enjoyed playing with a blow-up beach ball we brought and singing with us! We were amazed at how he tried to imitate the words and the gestures. He replicates sounds very well. He has said "John-Nathan", "Grandma", "More Please", and "Merci" among others.
We will pick up his Chinese passport on Thursday afternoon. We have bought our tickets for our flight to Guangzhou on Friday morning. This afternoon is nap time (at least for 3/4 of us!). We plan an outing to the park tomorrow, and maybe a bit more grocery-type shopping. We will not be visiting the orphanage because they have said that since there is some sickness among the children, they do not permit visitors at this time. Since we were undecided on the issue, we had asked the Lord for clear direction--and got it!

So glad to hear the paperwork went smoothly. We understand the "good looking" family comment!! All four of you are truly blessed. We praise the Lord with you for everything to date - praying for the rest of the trip leading up to coming home. Trust Julianna is doing alright. God bless
Love in Him,

"It is finished" as far as the Chinese adoption portion is concerned although I am sure there is more "paperwork" to accomplish. So cute to see John-Nathan's small hand on to a document that will change his life and yours and his quick learning to say his name. By the time you all get back he'll be saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Am sure things will start being real once you all leave Taiyaun for Guangzhou and then home on the 16th. Enjoy the moment and we continually Praise the Lord. nl & kac
What a relief......he's officially yours! He seems to know it, too! We know pictures and videos don't show us the full picture, but judging from what we can see, John Nathan seems to know he's HOME!!!!! We thank the Lord with you all for doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think!!!
Oh to see you all again!!! We miss you and love you!

Hi guys! Love all the new pictures! He looks like such a happy little fella! I love his big smile! It lights up his whole face!
Joshua and Julia have watched his video 3x and are frusterated that his other pictures don't "talk" as well. They had to get on the computer last night to tell him goodnight before they went to bed!
Julia said he has a great name! lol
So glad all of the paper work is complete and you can soon start your journey home!

Thank y'all for posting so often and so much for the rest of us to share ! I know you are delighting in every moment with your complete family :). As other posts have commented, I so agree that it is a work of the Lord that he seems so comfortable with y'all right from the get-Gou, and so amazing how well he is pronouncing English (AND French :). (But what about southern English: John-Nathan, can you say "y'all" ? :)
I am so thrilled for your new family of four: "oh taste and see that the Lord is so good!" I so look forward to seeing y'all safely back home.
love,
Valerie
